RGB 160xi / 168xi Interface
The Extron RGB 160xi and 168xi are universal analog computer video
interfaces with a video bandwidth of 300 MHz and a horizontal frequency
range of 15-150 kHz. Sync processing is accomplished through Extron's
ADSP™ Advanced Digital Sync Processing technology.
Front Panel
Consists of a 2-color power/signal LED (amber = power, green = power with
signal), audio input, HD 15-pin female analog input, ID bit termination DIP
switches, HD 15-pin female local monitor output, horizontal shift, and a
min/max LED (lights at horizontal shift range limits).
Rear Panel
IEC power input (100-240 VAC), 3-position gain/peak switch, 4 DIP switches
(sync on green on output, DDSP™ Digital Display Sync Processing, serration
pulse, spare), 6 BNC outputs, and stereo audio output.
Cabling
The following diagram is an example of the RGB 160xi cable connections.
The 168xi interface has similar cable connections (except for the optional
168xi adapter plate and cable clamp connections).
Easy Setup Procedure
Follow these steps and refer to the previous example diagram.
1. If desired, mount the interface to a desk or other suitable surface using
Extron's optional mounting kit. The RGB 168xi is rack mountable.
Note Removal of the top cover assembly from the RGB 168xi is
required when installing and wiring Architectural Adapter Plates
and connectors
2. Turn off power to the computer and display device (projector, etc.).
Disconnect the power cord to the interface.
3. Connect the computer to the Analog input.
4. Connect any audio devices.
5. Connect any display devices to the interface's BNC connectors.
6. Set the interface's DIP switches (see below).
7. Power on the computer, monitor, display device, and the interface.
Operation
Use the interface's horizontal control and the level/peak switch to adjust the
image.
Front Panel DIP Switch Settings
ID PIN 4 & PIN 11
On: set both pins On if using the interface with a laptop computer
that is not attached to a local monitor
Off : set both pins Off if attaching a local monitor to the interface
Rear Panel DIP Switch Settings
SOG (sync on green output):
On = output a composite sync on the green video (RGsB)
Off = output is RGBS or RGBHV (depending on connections)
DDSP
™ (Digital Display Sync Processing)
On = all sync processing functions are bypassed*
Off = ADSP™ sync processing is used
SERR (serration pulse)
On = serration pulses are present on the output
Off = serration pulses are not present on the output
*Turning on the DDSP feature disables the horizontal shift control.
