3. Connect the 9-pin connector end of the RS-232 cable to the serial port of your
computer or control system.

If you use cable that has a drain wire, tie
the drain wire to ground at both ends.
Connect a ground wire between the DSC

Connecting to the USB Config Port
The mini Type B USB Config port is located on the DSC front panel. It can be used to
configure the converter via SIS commands.
1. Use a USB A-to-mini-B cable to connect the DSC USB Config port to a USB port on
your computer.
